Our Story

Project Hayd started as a small, student-led initiative in India with a simple yet powerful goal: to challenge the stigma surrounding menstruation. From organizing workshops to distributing free menstrual products, Project Hayd focused on both education and action. Collaborations with organizations like Paree and Bala Foundations have expanded its impact, ensuring access to menstrual hygiene products and fostering open conversations. Each visit, workshop, and pad distributed takes us one step closer to breaking taboos and empowering those in need. Project Hayd is more than periods; it's change and inclusivity.

What started as a school project soon gained momentum as we organized workshops in local communities, focusing on menstrual hygiene, debunking myths, and providing free, hygienic products. These visits allowed us to engage with young girls, women, and educators, creating a space where menstruation could be discussed openly without fear of judgment. Through these sessions, we not only educated participants but also fostered an environment of empathy, making menstruation a topic of care and respect rather than shame.

As Project Hayd grew, we realized the importance of collaborating with like-minded organizations to maximize our impact. Partnerships with the Paree Foundation and the Bala Foundation have helped us reach more people and broaden our scope, from providing free products to organizing more focused educational programs in schools and rural communities. These collaborations have enabled us to better support our mission and strengthen the work we’ve done so far.

It began as a school-based initiative, and today, it is a movement to make that last. The foundation laid here should now go forward with a stronger, further expansion in more schools, collaborating with other organizations, and including menstrual health education as an important aspect of our communities. Project Hayd has only just started and will have its journey just continue growing.

Our Mission

Menstrual Health Education

Our mission is to provide accessible and accurate information about menstrual health, challenging the misconceptions and taboos that surround it. Through workshops and awareness campaigns, we educate individuals—especially young girls and women in rural communities—about the biological, emotional, and social aspects of menstruation. By fostering open dialogue, we aim to normalize menstruation as a natural part of life.

Providing Hygienic Products

Project Hayd strives to ensure that no one is denied access to hygienic menstrual products. By distributing free, safe, and sustainable pads, we help individuals manage their menstrual health with dignity. Our efforts are focused on rural and underdeveloped areas, where access to menstrual products is limited, and the stigma around menstruation often prevents open discussion and support.

Breaking Stigmas

One of our core missions is to challenge the cultural taboos and stigma surrounding menstruation. Through workshops and campaigns, we foster open dialogue to make menstruation a topic that is understood and accepted, not shamed or ignored. By addressing societal attitudes, we aim to create an environment where menstruation is seen as natural and normal.

Encouraging Openness and Conversation

At Project Hayd, we strive to create safe spaces where menstruation can be discussed openly and without fear of judgment. By encouraging conversations within families, schools, and communities, we aim to normalize the topic and reduce the stigma. Openness fosters understanding, empathy, and a supportive environment for individuals to manage menstruation with confidence.
